Dr.Jothydev Kesavadev was the speaker at Swasthycon 2021, jointly organized by All India Institute of Diabetes & Research (AIIDR) & Swasthya Diabetes Care and supported by the International Diabetes Federation and D FOOT International, held virtually from 5th to 10th January 2021. Dr.Kesavadev spoke on ‘Best use of technology in driving remote consultations’ on 7th January 2021 in the session ‘Unlock the doors to new normal’ that dealt with 6 unique aspects of telemedicine. Dr.Yash Patel, Dr.Shashank Joshi, Dr.Vijay Negalur, Dr.Manoj Chawla and Dr.Krishna Seshadri were the other speakers of the session. More than 2300 doctors attended the session presented by the panel followed by the discussions the next day.

Dr.Jothydev Kesavadev spoke in a program in 24 News Channel and discussed the importance of having blood glucose as a new vital sign. He emphasized the need to consider the blood glucose levels as a new vital sign to indicate the prognosis during hospitalization.

Precaution to prevent the next wave of pandemic

A message from Dr.Jothydev Kesavadev on pandemic was emphasized by Mr.Sreekandan Nair during his program in 24 news channel. The message reads “Per day 3900 deaths in the USA, 1700 in the UK are being reported. This is just because the public assumed the pandemic is over and the vaccine is a panacea. Kerala will have the same shock if we are committing the same mistake. Let’s be proactive in preventing the next wave in March.”

A lecture on the key updates on using patient driven titration of injectables using mobile apps, the urgent necessity to implement “Time in Range'' in routine practice and how telemedicine will save lives of millions was given by Dr.Jothydev Kesavadev at the Asian ACP: American College of Physicians on 6 February 2021 that witnessed participation of thousands of physicians from around Asia.
