Technology Innovation Award for Dr.Jothydev Kesavadev

Dr. Jothydev Kesavadev was presented the ‘Technology Innovation Award’ at the 23rd International Symposium of Diabetes, which was jointly organized by the World-India Diabetes Foundation and the Indian Academy of Diabetes in Mumbai. The award was for his pioneering efforts in the field of diabetes and his work in advancing technological solutions for better diabetes care.

IDF Virtual Congress 2023

The International Diabetes Federation (IDF) Virtual Congress 2023 took place from December 4th to 7th, 2023. During the congress, Dr. Jothydev Kesavadev presented the abstract titled ‘Impact of Follow-Up Interventions on Diabetes Management during Floods’. Additionally, there were two e-posters from the centre, entitled, ‘A Community-Based Survey on Treatment Challenges and Management Gaps in Type 1 Diabetes’, and ‘Comparative Study on Diabetes Complications and CAM Utilization: A Control Group Analysis’.

A group patient education program was conducted at JDC Haripad on December 20, 2023. Dr. Yaseen Unes and Dr. Jothydev Kesavadev spoke about diabetes management and recent advances in diabetes treatment during the program.

DREAMS Practicals-Alleppey

DREAMS Practicals-Alleppey

The DREAMS Practical Session 4, a key component of the DREAMS project under the Kesavadev Trust, was successfully held in Alleppey on December 23, 2023. This event focused specifically to children with type 1 diabetes and their parents, featuring a variety of interactive programs. These included workshops, hands-on activities, and informative educational sessions. The demonstration sessions, along with comprehensive classes on diet and exercise, received particularly positive feedback. The DREAMS team for this session comprised Gopika Krishnan, Geethu Sanal, Dr. Junaid Naina, Anjana Basanth, Gopika Beena Chandran, and Vysakh Chandran. Representatives from the Type 1 Diabetes Foundation—Mr. Navas and Ms. Dereena—and the Type 1 Diabetic Welfare Society, represented by Ms. Ramlath, played a coordinating role and also addressed the attendees.
