14th ATTD 2021, Paris

The 14th International Conference on Advanced Technologies & Treatments for Diabetes was hosted virtually 2-5 June 2021.
Dr. Jothydev Kesavadev was an invited faculty at Diabetes Technologies in India Symposium at ATTD virtual, where he spoke on ‘Using Telemedicine and remote monitoring for diabetes during COVID-19: The Indian experience’ on 5 June 2021.
The original Research from Jothydev’s Diabetes Research Centre titled, ‘Covid Virtual IP Care: Concept to Reality’ was selected for oral presentation. The presenter was Dr. Jothydev Kesavadev.
Two of the other research from the centre, ‘Can an advanced lancing device alleviate pain and improve HbA1c?’ and ‘Rediscovering the power of telemedicine in the covid era’ was selected as e-posters.

P.Kesavadev Awards Announced

The 17th P Kesavadev Awards 2021, was announced virtually during the press conference on 11 June 2021 by the P. Kesavadev Awards Committee. The Kesavadev Literary Award was bagged by veteran journalist Shri. Thomas Jacob and the Kesavadev Diabscreen Kerala Award by Padma Shri Dr. Shashank R Joshi. Kesavadev Literary Award Committee Chairman Dr.George Onakkoor, Committee members, Shri. Vijayakrishnan, Dr.P G.Balagopal. Ms.Seethalekshmy Dev, Dr.Jothydev Kesavadev were present at the press meet.

17th P.Kesawadev Awards

The 17th P.Kesavadev Award ceremony was conducted on 17 June 2021, abiding by the COVID protocol. The prestigious 17th P Kesavadev Literary Award was won by veteran journalist Shri. Thomas Jacob and the Kesavadev Diabscreen Kerala Award was won by Padma Shri Dr. Shashank R Joshi. The awards were presented by the honourable education Minister, Shri V Shivankutty at Kesavadev Hall, Jothydev's Diabetes Research Centre, following the COVID safety protocols. The distinguished winners and all the members were welcomed by Dr. Jothydev Kesavadev, Managing trustee, P Kesavadev Trust. Dr.George Onakoor, Chairman of Kesavadev Award Committee, briefly spoke about P. Kesavadev Awards. Kumari Divya Gopakumar, BA Music student of NSS Women’s College, Neeramankara sang a beautiful song from the film 'Odayil Ninnu' which was well appreciated. Dr. T P Sreenivasan, the former Indian diplomat, gave a remembrance lecture about Sri P Kesavadev. The program was concluded by a Vote of Thanks by Ms.Sunitha Jothydev, Secretary of Kesavadev Trust. The ceremony was live on Zoom and Facebook.

100 years of Insulin discovery: An Epic Saga

On 22 June 2021, Dr.Jothydev Kesavadev spoke on ‘En route to the Insulin centenary and overcoming psychological insulin inertia’ at a national webinar, ‘100 years of Insulin discovery: an epic saga’. The lecture was followed by a panel discussion moderated by Dr. Jothydev. Other panelists at the event were Dr.Sunil Prasobh, Dr.John Mathew, Dr.Roney Rubin. Dr.Nijisha chaired the sessions.
